liquid ceramic coatings
- REFLECTS UV RAYS (#1 DESTROYER OF ROOFS.)
- REDUCE BUILDING CARBON FOOTPRINT AND GLOBAL WARMING.
- COOLS ROOF SURFACE TEMPERATURE UP TO 60 DEGREES F COOLER THAN A NORMAL ROOF.
- LENGTHENS LIFE OF AIR CONDITIONING UNIT.
- SIGNIFICANT ENERGY SAVINGS BY REFLECTING ENERGY.
WHY INVEST IN A COOL ROOF?
A cool roof will extend the life of your existing roof.
Cool roofs will Reduce Thermal Shock to your roof. Thermal Shock is the expansion and contraction that takes place as the roof heats up during the day and cools down at night. This effect is literally tearing the roof apart.
A cool roof will reduce dehydration of the roofing material. Dehydration is the result of ultra violet radiation from the sun heating the roofing material causing drying and cracking that leads to roof replacement. The cool roof coating helps to protect the roof from heat and UV rays greatly reducing the aging process.
The cool roof coating can reduce the temperature of a roof up to 60 Degrees. Resulting lowering interior temperatures reducing energy cost for air conditioning.
WHAT IS A COOL ROOF
Cool roofs are highly reflective, highly emissive roofing materials that stay 50 to 60 degrees F cooler than a normal roof under a hot summer sun.
Solar Reflectance is the fraction of solar energy which is reflected by the surface in question.
Infrared Emittance is a parameter between 0 and 1 which measures the ability of a warm or hot material to shed some of its heat in the form of infrared radiation.
The Solar Reflectance Index (SRI.) is a measure of the roof’s ability to reject solar heat. Materials with the highest SRI values are the coolest choices for roofing. Due to the way SRI is defined, particularly hot materials can even take slightly negative values, and particularly cool materials can even exceed 100 on the CRRC’s scale. (Some products reflect higher initially but with solar energy they become less every year)
WHEN SHOULD YOU INSTALL A COOL ROOF?
Cool Roof Coatings alone are normally applied right after the installation of a new roof as the final act in a new roof installation.
WHERE CAN A COOL ROOF BE APPLIED?
Cool Roof Coatings can be applied to practically any roofing surface. It is important to establish compatibility between the coating and the underlying roof membrane. Cool Roof Coatings can also be applied to sprayed polyurethane, metal roofs, single-ply rubber roofs and modified bitumen, built-up roofs, and most asphalt roofs.
